W.O.M. will focus on the Minimally Invasive Surgery

Since mid-2002, the company instituted an enclosing cost reduction program and a reorganisation in sales and marketing. After three years, sales growth for 2004 returned to double-digits with eleven per cent, which was stronger than the market overall with seven per cent.

With the sale of IB Laser AG WORLD OF MEDICINE has completed its strategic restructuring and in the future will focus on the core business Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS). The competence for medical laser technologies and applications will continue to be covered by CLYXON Laser GmbH.

WORLD OF MEDICINE and its technologies have been paving the way Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) for short. From its core business MIS, W.O.M. markets its products through major medical technology firms and established distributors.

Like any other medical technique company from the German Healthcare Export Group WORLD OF MEDICINE has long term experiences in the international export business. The company exports more than 60 per cent of its products and will continue to profit from the strong growth markets outside of Europe.

Roughly 40 per cent of sales volume is transacted in the U.S., the world's largest medical technology market. The rate of growth in the U.S. equalled 25 per cent in US dollars last year. In addition to this, WORLD OF MEDICINE has made well-timed investments in the new markets opening in Asia, especially China.

W.O.M.'s 30 years of experience in MIS is substantiated by the 50 per cent global market share it holds in its business division FLOW&FLUIDWORLD, its long standing relationships with more than 200 business partners, over 35 FDA approvals, more than 50 patents, and the high quality offered by its products from the production facility in Ludwigsstadt, Germany.
