Initially dedicated to the development of lateral flow assays for POC diagnosis of eye diseases, including glaucoma, antibody-based treatments and reader software development, we are presently expanding our research interests to include other targets and other pathologies. With our extensive prior and present experience in lateral flow development, we are presently looking for a young scientist with at least a first degree to participate in the development and production of lateral flow tests.
Tasks
- The candidate will be required to participate in all aspects of the work we do in our laboratories including the development of new assays, the production of our existing assays and the general management of the laboratory.
Qualification profile
- You have successfully completed a degree in natural sciences (biology, biotechnology, molecular medicine, life science or related courses) and are looking to expand your range of work skills.
- Prior experience in the Lateral Flow Assay field would be valuable.
- You have a good technical understanding and strong interest in this area and ideally have knowledge of immunology, especially antigen-antibody response and microarray analyses.
- You are interested in establishing and further developing methods, are highly motivated and able to develop new approaches on state-of-the-art equipment independently and in a problem-oriented manner.
- You are a team player, but also work independently.
- You also have a sufficiently good knowledge of English.
We offer
- We offer a modern laboratory with all the necessary equipment, as well as good support and training within our interdisciplinary working group and a collegial environment, as well as a very close cooperation with industry.
- Training in the expanding field of Lateral Flow Assay Technology.
- If you are interested, there is also the possibility of PhD thesis in close co-operation with the Experimental Ophthalmology lab at UMC Mainz
