New Development Project Launch at Norma Instruments

We are delighted to announce that Norma Instruments is launching a new, two-year development project starting in June. We are undertaking this project in collaboration with Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) as a consortium. The project, titled "Development of a Modular Detector and Illuminator System for Examining Light Scattering of Shaped Elements in All Angular Ranges, Primarily for Hematological Applications," aims to make significant advancements in hematological research and diagnostics.

The project is supported by a grant from the National Research, Development and Innovation Office (NKFIH) amounting to more than 793 million HUF. Of this, 543 million HUF is allocated to Norma Instruments, and 250 million HUF to ELTE. The total project cost is 1135 million HUF, with 342 million HUF provided from our resources.

The project aims to build a measurement system that creates a detailed light scattering map over the largest possible angular range for a population of blood cell-sized elements. This development will significantly expand the research and development possibilities in flow cytometry and is expected to define the specifications for future, more accurate, and sensitive hematological analyzers.

The grant enables us to commence the project immediately and contribute to the advancement of hematological diagnostics. For more details about the project in Hungarian, please visit the NKFIH website:  NKFIH Supported Projects .
