MicroBase(3184) LoyalCare PI Material Inline Aerosol Drug Delivery Platform Approved by TFDA for Use in Ventilator inhalation therapy

Taiwan is set to enter a super-aged society by 2025, and according to a United Nations report, the global elderly population aged 65 and above is projected to reach 1.6 billion by 2050 1 . As chronic respiratory diseases are common among the elderly, population aging is expected to drive the growth of the respiratory therapy market. According to a report by market research firm Astute Analytica, the global mechanical ventilator market is projected to reach USD$8.65 billion by 2031 2 .

LoyalCare ® , a Taiwan-developed and manufactured product, offers a safe and efficient solution for nebulized drug inhalation. It features a globally unique polymer core module and a inline system design to prevent drug leakage during nebulization, thereby enhancing drug utilization and reducing the risk of healthcare workers inhaling medication.

This nebulizer system is designed for use in intensive care units and long-term care facilities, specifically for patients requiring ventilators or other positive airway pressure. On September 12, 2024, it received Taiwan's first medical device license using PI materials (License No. 008226), officially becoming equipment available for use in medical institutions.

MicroBase Technology (3184) stated that, unlike continuous nebulization models, the LoyalCare™ Nebulizer System is designed to automatically shut off within 30 minutes. The system can nebulize up to 6ml of high-viscosity medication within 30 minutes, effectively reducing unnecessary medication waste. Compared to traditional metal materials, the active vibrating mesh of the device is made from polymer materials, which reduces the risk of metal mesh breakage. It also offers acid and alkali resistance as well as corrosion resistance, improving the safety and efficacy of nebulization therapy.

The LoyalCare™ Nebulizer System won the 2024 Taiwan Excellence Award, regarded as the "Oscar" of Taiwan's industrial sector.
