How are AI, robotics and digital solutions actually making their way into healthcare? This is precisely where the new Digital Health Hub at MEDICA in Hall 17 comes in. It brings together digital health, innovation and start-ups in one location, connecting new technologies with practical applications and the people who are translating them into healthcare.
A central element is the new MEDICA DIGITAL HEALTH STAGE. From 16 to 19 November, experts from academia, healthcare, industry and the start-up ecosystem will discuss concrete applications of artificial intelligence, robotics, cloud technologies, extended reality and health data.
The programme director and host is Prof. Dr. David Matusiewicz, Professor of Medical Management and Dean of Health & Social Affairs at FOM University of Applied Sciences. Together with experts from different fields, he will focus in particular on how digital technologies can make the transition from development into real-world healthcare.
Cybersecurity and digital resilience will also be brought to life in a practical way. A live hacker attack will demonstrate the risks that increasing connectivity poses to healthcare facilities and explore how hospitals and other healthcare organisations can prepare for them.
But the Digital Health Hub goes beyond the stage programme. In the immediate vicinity of the MEDICA DIGITAL HEALTH STAGE, around one hundred young companies in the MEDICA START-UP PARK will showcase their innovations for digitally driven healthcare. On the adjacent MEDICA START-UP STAGE, selected start-ups will pitch their solutions and connect with potential partners, investors and decision-makers from the international healthcare industry.
Hall 17 is thus creating a concentrated ecosystem for digital health: established companies meet start-ups, academia meets healthcare practice, and emerging technologies meet concrete use cases.
Hall 17 is becoming MEDICA’s central meeting point for digital health, innovation and new business models – and a place to experience how digital technologies are shaping the healthcare of tomorrow.
