From outer space straight to MEDICA: sports medicine meets innovation

The MEDICA MEDICINE + SPORTS CONFERENCE is moving to a new venue in 2026: the internationally renowned conference, which addresses all aspects of the future of sport and health, will take place on 18 and 19 November in Hall 4 for the first time – right at the heart of the MEDICA exhibition.

ESA astronaut Dr Matthias Maurer will kick things off with his opening keynote on the mental and physical challenges of space travel. The range of topics will then span brain health and stroke prevention, through to longevity, obesity and ‘exercise on prescription’, right up to AI, wearables and modern performance diagnostics.

The new location also symbolises MEDICA’s transformation: Scientific exchange and knowledge transfer are being more closely integrated with technological innovation and practical application. The direct link to the MEDICA SPORTS HUB, guided innovation tours to exhibitors and new masterclasses bring conference participants face-to-face with technologies and solutions for prevention, diagnostics, therapy and rehabilitation.
