As a leading developer behind Bluetooth low energy solutions for medical and healthcare markets, connectBlue today announced a customer configured solution based on the new standard Bluetooth v4.0. The Swedish based customer Tridentify will use this technology in a high-volume blood bank solution QTA Tracer System™ to be distributed in Sweden by Abbott.
connectBlue has substantially increased its focus in the medical and healthcare markets this year. As part of this expansion, connectBlue has pioneered Bluetooth low energy technology with a solution developed for Tridentify which will be the first to meet this early market through Abbott.

Tridentify’s QTA Tracer System is a patented solution that will decrease blood waste as well as increase blood availability, tracing possibilities and blood quality. In the Tridentify solution, the connectBlue Bluetooth low energy module provides the complete solution including battery and all of the necessary sensors to be encapsulated by Tridentify for the finished product. connectBlue is developing the application software for the Bluetooth low energy module and Tridentify is developing the Bluetooth low energy computing gateway.
connectBlue is an active participant in several Bluetooth SIG working groups, helping advance the work in Bluetooth low energy technology in particular.
