ZETTLER® Medicall® 800 IP Nursecall and Communication System

The networking of information and safety technology is an increasing feature within the healthcare sector. In particular the use of information technology creates new opportunities for communication and data exchange. This requires smart interfaces which connect individual areas and systems together, facilitating integrated and user-friendly communication, as well as optimising safety for patients and hospital staff.

The ZETTLER® Medicall® 800 IP nursecall and communication system is an IP-based safety system which complies with the high standards of DIN VDE 0834. Among other things, it ensures system stability and trouble-free communication, even if the interfaces and higher-level systems fail. Furthermore, the option for integration into external safety and communication systems offers the utmost flexibility. ZETTLER® Medicall® 800 systems which are already installed can also be easily upgraded to IP status.

The individual wards and departments are connected via a separate LAN which is assigned to the public address system. Voice transmission (VoIP) also takes place via the LAN network. The active room components in the ZETTLER® Medicall® 800 IP can be integrated into a LON® network or directly to the ward's LAN. If the hospital's own LAN is connected to the bedside, the nurses and patient have easy access to all the applications, such as patient monitoring or using media technology right from the patient's bed. Thanks to the flexibly designed system architecture, the ZETTLER® Medicall® 800 IP can be connected to the hospital's internal IT network, as well as to inter-site safety and communication systems.

At a glance: Increased performance through integration
Thanks to the option to network different communication and information tools with the Medicall® 800 IP nursecall and communication system, a communication and information platform can be created that benefits all users. The features include:
• Mobile and stationary handsets and terminals, such as DECT, GSM, Intercom, telecommunications and WLAN
• TVs, multimedia and phone (at the patient's bedside)
• Video solutions
• Access control and dementia patient-protection systems
• Identification and localisation systems for people and technical equipment
• Fire and other safety systems

The convergence of individual service units on a single network leads to a clear reduction in ongoing running costs and facilitates multi-layered applications without special installations. All in all, this gives the hospital or nursing home a sustainable improvement in its competitive position, through increased efficiency and the quality of treatment given to its patients.
