DÜSSELDORF - With dermagold100, MTS introduces a highly effective and efficient treatment possibility for diabetic foot ulcers and opens up a new dimension for non-invasive wound care.
Researchers have shown that shockwaves are highly effective in enhancing and accelerating the healing of chronic diabetic foot ulcers. Unfocused shockwave therapy initiates the release of critical wound growth factors, such as VEGF, and promotes vessel in-growth which in turn leads to a better blood flow in the affected area. Furthermore shockwaves reduce the number of bacteria and germs within the wound area significantly.
With dermagold100, MTS presents the first extracorporeal, non-invasive therapy system that specifically utilizes the biological effects of unfocused shockwaves to heal diabetic foot ulcers. According to the prospective study “Extracorporeal Shockwave Treatment for Chronic Diabetic Foot Ulcers” of Prof. Wang from Chang Gung Memorial Hospital - Kaohsiung Medical Center, Taiwan, unfocused shockwaves therapy even appears to be more effective for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers than the current standard of care method HBO.
Depending on type and size of the wound, therapy with dermagold100 comprehends two to four treatments per patient. The treatment itself is pain free and therefore conducted without anaesthesia. First therapy results are already available one to two weeks after the first treatment.
