Thought Technology New Product Announcements

November 9, 2010, Montreal, Canada—Thought Technology Ltd., the world's leading biofeedback manufacturer, is bringing six new products and related sport success stories to Medica 2010. Three of the new products, the TT-pIR HEadGear™ device, the EKG Polar™ receiver and the Voltage Isolator 4 Infiniti™ are hardware add-ons that provide additional sensing capabilities and allow for interfacing with other rehabilitation systems. The other three products, the Reaction Time Suite™, BioFun™Games, and CardioPro Infiniti™ are software packages offering additional features to the BioGraph Infiniti software.

When asked what Medica 2010 means to Thought Technology Ltd., Lawrence Klein, Vice President said, “Biofeedback, Neurofeedback and Psychophysiology are an important part of medicine and through Medica, we will meet 50 of our 150 worldwide distributors who can share that message around the world."

TT-pIR HEadGear ™— incorporates two very sensitive and highly accurate passive infrared (pIR) sensors mounted on a lightweight, ergonomic headset to provide responsive and unimpeded monitoring and biofeedback training of changes in forehead temperature - a perfect adjunct to neurofeedback, either as a precursor or a parallel modality.

Voltage Isolator 4 Infiniti" Isokinetic Dynamometer Interface—allows Thought Technology's systems to be safely interfaced with analog outputs of line-powered systems, such as computers with DAC cards, Isokinetic Dynamometers, or Force Platforms. Off-the-shelf solutions are available for: Biodex System 3 & 4, CMSI Humac Norm, Cybex Norm, Con-Trex, LimbGym and BTE interfacing isokinetic machines to our Infiniti systems. It provides the examiner with real-time physiological monitoring (such as SEMG, heart rate and respiration) and data to validate the effectiveness of the training. It can help users modify their physiology (breathing patterns, muscle activation patterns, etc.) in real time while training. Biofeedback motivates the patient to play an active role in the rehabilitation process.

Reaction Time Suite™ for BioGraph® Infiniti software—provides highly accurate measurements of reaction time, and includes two distinct sections: continuous performance testing (CPT) and sports-related reaction time training. The suite provides statistics on errors of commission and errors of omissions, with time-locked physiological measurements and event-related categorization of responses. Charles Hamelin, 500m Gold Medalist of Short Track Speed Skating stated: "Reaction time training helped me to be consistent and first off the line in race after race at the Olympic Games!" Charles Hamelin participated in the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games and the 2006-2009 World Championships.

BioFun™ Games for Biofeedback, Neurofeedback and Muscle Rehabilitation —is a software add-on for BioGraph Infiniti, consisting of a series of video games and toy interfaces to help your clients become healthier by teaching strategies of self-regulation and developing voluntary control while having fun!

CardioPro Infiniti™ - HRV Analysis Module— is a specialized off-line HRV analysis module for BioGraph Infiniti, which uses either an EKG or BVP sensor to provide users with reviewing and analysis capabilities using published standards for HRV sessions that were originally only available in specialized software programs and in Thought Technology's previous Cardio-Pro software. HRV metrics are based on the guide-lines published by the 1996 Task Force of The European Society of Cardiology and The North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology. It produces a comprehensive statistical analysis, including SDNN, SDANN, NN50, pNN50, RMSSD, absolute or relative power for VLF, LF and HF (in power units or normalized units) and computes HRV metrics with statistics for accessory physiological signals such as skin conductance, temperature and EMG, to provide a complete understanding of the client's physiology.

EKG Polar™ Receiver —is a new sensor designed by Thought Technology. It detects the heart rate of a user from one or more belt-worn Polar™ transmitter belts.

The new range of products will be sold worldwide by Mediwatch through its direct channels in the USA, UK and its distributors throughout the rest of the world.

In the October issue of Advance for Physical Therapy and Rehab Medicine, Canadian psychologist Dr. Pierre Beauchamp, Ph.D. writes about using biofeedback for sport psychology and better athletic training. "The fact that several successful Canadian Medalists in the World Championships and at the Vancouver Olympics were trained by Sport Psychologists using our ProComp Infiniti systems makes it easy for us to wave the Canadian flag," stated Lawrence Klein.

This past year Thought Technology celebrated its 35th year in business. Formed in 1974 as a small company with one product, it has evolved into an enterprise that today produces a full line of biofeedback and data acquisition instrumentation sold in over 85 countries worldwide, with 150 distributors in over 50 countries.
