The user friendly and cost effective Venturi pump unit was purpose built for NPWT and has sophisticated alarm functions, a fully sealed, flush fitting canister, complete with solidifier granules, as well as hydrophobic and bacterial filters.
This product range is just one example of the advanced manufacturing processes employed at the Talley Group, where further space has recently been made available to cater for the increased international demands.
The gauze based dressing technique used with the pump system is based on studies made by Chariker–Jeter et al in 1989 and involves the application of a moistened anti-microbial (AMD) gauze and a silicone drain to the wound, which is then covered with a transparent film, thus ensuring an air tight seal and a moist wound healing environment. Once the prescribed pressure is set, negative pressure is delivered to the wound. This technique utilises lower pressure settings than other interface types, usually between 60-80mmHg of negative pressure.
Clinicians who have used this technique have commented that moistened gauze can easily be manipulated to the exact shape of the wound and the technique is simple, quick and easy to use, teach and learn. The soft flexible silicone drains can be cut to length for a custom fit and a variety of dressing kits are also available.
