Suresh Kumar, Assistant Secretary of Commerce, is helping U.S. companies to export.

Düsseldorf, Germany, November 14th, 2011. – U.S. exhibitors are looking forward to the visit of Suresh Kumar, Director General of the U.S. & Foreign Commercial Service, Department of Commerce at MEDICA 2011. Kumar, who is also Assistant Secretary for Trade Promotion, will visit the MEDICA trade show on Nov 16th & 17th.

Before entering government, Kumar was President & Managing Partner of KaiZen Innovation®, headed the Worldwide Consumer Pharmaceuticals business of Johnson & Johnson and also had a leadership position at Warner Lambert/ Pfizer. Moreover, he served for global councils like the American Management Association (AMA), Consumer Healthcare Products Association (CHPA) and the Thunderbird School of Global Management. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation also were happy to have Mr. Kumar as consultant and Special Advisor with them.

Suresh Kumar also served as adjunct faculty member at the Schulich School of Business at Toronto’s York University, Bombay University, India and has been appointed Professor of International Business at Rutgers University EMBA program. Kumar speaks six languages, which makes his international profile complete. He has an Economics degree from Delhi University, an MBA from Bombay University and is alumnus of the Thunderbird International Consortium Program.

At MEDICA, Kumar will visit the U.S. exhibitors on November 16th & 17th, with a special interest in the CEO Center (Corporate Executive Office) and USA pavilions. He has also the honor of opening the CEO Center in the morning of November 16th. Since Kumar already showed a high interest in medical topics during his former career, MEDICA will be a special event for him.

Kumar’s visit is also intended to support the export of products and services of U.S. companies in the context of the National Export Initiative. The U.S. Commercial Service, which he is leading, is working closely with the 400+ U.S. exhibitors at MEDICA, supporting them with special programs like CEO counseling and matchmaking programs. The U.S. Commercial Service will also host the traditional USA Reception on Thursday evening on the Medica Media floor in Hall 15. Press welcome.
