Also its newly developed “Beach Chair Device System” and the “Patient Turner” products will interest both orthopedic surgeons and anesthetists. Samarit Canada is affiliated with Samarit Medical Ltd. Switzerland and manufactures Swiss-quality products under license from Samarit Switzerland. The SAMARIT companies already distribute their injury-preventing patient transfer products to hospitals in over 70 countries.
“We are well established internationally, but with the ever broadening healthcare market, we felt it was time we came to MEDICA and mounted what truly is the world stage for medical innovation,” says Mike Lalani, SAMARIT’s production manager. “So we came to show the world our innovative yet safe, simple, and affordable patient transfer devices and products. What’s more, we will demonstrate two newly developed products for the operating room (OR) – knowing that no matter where potential distributors and care providers for them come from, they will find them highly attractive.
“Our Rollbord products are safe and comfortable because patients ride on an anti-bacterial surface that is soft. Also, attempting a lateral transfer by the normal method of lifting a patient is a high-risk task for nurses, paramedics, and others who face that task and its injurious threats daily. But with one of our Rollbords slipped underneath their patients, they simply roll the patient without lifting them from one bed to another and can bridge a gap up to 20 centimetres wide. As well, our products are MRI-friendly because they contain no metal. Being lightweight, they can also be easily suspended for convenient storage and quick retrieval. It’s a small wonder that there are already over 150,000 to 200,000 Rollbords in caregivers’ hands the world over.”
Developed with the expert help of engineers, doctors, specialists, and other caregivers, a variety of SAMARIT patient transfer products are used world wide in a full range of healthcare environments: in the OR, in the emergency room, in diagnostic imaging, in the ambulance, and even in homes. SAMARIT produces five Rollbord models: Standard, ICU-Beriatric, Mini-gyn, Surgibord and MRI, as well as a variety of related nursing aids.
At MEDICA 2012, SAMARIT will be exhibiting at booth M24, Hall 5 and welcomes distributors, the media, and caregivers to come see our products and even try some out.
