Prevent infections with AgPURE™ antimicrobial nanosilver, the OECD reference material for silver nanoparticles

Ras materials GmbH, a company located in Regensburg is producing AgPURE™ antimicrobial, an additive based on nanosilver, that gives polymers and surfaces antiinfective properties. It is currently used for medical devices or medical coatings to prevent the spread of multiresistant germs like MRSA effectively.

Recent studies confirm excellent biocompatibility of medical devices containing AgPURE™. Scientific results show that nanosilver inhibit the spread of important pathogens, including Staphylococci like MRSA, Candida albicans, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and lots of other germs causing hospital acquired infections.

AgPURE™ nanosilver has been selected as the official reference- and testing material (NM 300) for the sponsorship program of the “Organisation of Economic Cooperation and Development” (OECD). The objective of this program is to scientifically discover possible threats to health and the environment. Within the OECD's testing program, the member nations oblige themselves to address 14 representative nanomaterials to over 50 endpoints. That is, by the end of the year 2010, extensive reports including exact descriptions of the respective nanomaterial, the physical and chemical attributes, its environmental impact as well as the toxicological and eco-toxicological risks, will have been compiled.
We are looking forward to discussing your benefits of using AgPURE™ antimicrobial products for your application.
