The plant for the production of test strips and glucometers for diabetics in September will work in Irkutsk. The products will be of high quality, but at the same time cheaper than analogues by 30%. Now experts install equipment that was brought from South Korea.
The equipment is assembled by Koreans themselves. They will train Russian specialists. For a foreign company, such cooperation is also profitable. In Irkutsk, electricity is cheaper, the cost of maintaining the company is lower. For specialists from South Korea built a hostel on the territory of the plant, so to speak, not departing from production. Now here live 15 people.
Production will create 70 jobs. And, of course, taxes will come to the budget of the Irkutsk region. At the launch of one line, they will be able to produce 3 million test strips a year and 500 thousand glucometers in one shift. Now in Russia, about 8 million people suffer from diabetes. The Development Corporation of the Irkutsk Region has invested 173 million rubles in the project. "The volume of production that is planned will provide up to 20% of the needs of residents of Russia in test strips and glucometers. The estimated price that is available today is about 600 rubles per package of 50 test strips, this is a very good price today, competitive, "said Oleg Sevryukov, General Director of the Irkutsk Region Development Corporation.
