Pioneering ‘zero pressure’ mattresses showcased at MEDICA 2018 (hall 16, stand F18-8)

A UK company, who specialises in the development and manufacture of ‘zero pressure’ technology will be at MEDICA 2018 to showcase their full range of pioneering mattress solutions.

Over the last few years, Rober has invested heavily in R&D to develop a complete range of pressure ulcer mattresses that cater for a variety of needs including patients that are immobile, bariatric or have existing pressure injuries.

Included in the range is the NoDec® AIRSTREAM THP (Total Heel Protection) which was designed specifically to relieve pressure on the heel and lower limbs. The new mattress contains an independent heel zone that prevents pressure ulcers from occurring at this site and helps existing pressure injuries to heal.

Rober will also be showcasing its intensive care pressure ulcer mattress, specially designed to offer pressure ulcer relief to immobile and critically ill patients. The WIZARD® combines Rober’s signature alternating pressure cell design with an impressive tilt facility. This action gently turns the patient onto their side, comfortably and correctly.

Developed in conjunction with clinicians, all Rober’s mattresses feature clinically proven technology that prevents pressure injuries from developing. They also have therapeutic properties that promote the healing of established ulcers. The mattresses are fully automatic, and patients nursed upon them require less frequent manual repositioning, thus relieving the pressure on busy nursing staff. They can be used in everyday nursing environments, as well as acute care facilities.

Mike Hutson, Chief Executive of Rober, said: “Designed and manufactured in the UK, Rober’s mattresses and overlays have been developed to replicate the body’s natural movements by responding to a patient’s weight, spontaneous movement pattern and body position. They provide enhanced comfort and complete pressure elimination at regular intervals.”

MEDICA is taking place from 12 – 14th November 2018 and throughout the show, Rober will be located in in hall 16, stand F18-8
