Parker Life Sciences offers Liquid X®, a 12mm isolated diaphragm solenoid valve that provides the flexibility, reliability, and application-specific performance required by today’s medical, bioanalytical, and clinical chemistry OEMs. Designed in collaboration with several global leaders in life science OEM instrumentation, Liquid X is the latest product offering from the Pneutronics X-Valve® technology platform, providing high reliability, low power consumption, and a range of features.

Liquid X offers perfluoroelastomer (FFKM) and ethylene propylene (EPDM) elastomer options that provide absolute repeatability in response time and performance for over five million and ten million cycles respectably. Combined with a polyetheretherketone (PEEK) body, this design guarantees Parker customers that their valves will reliably perform in harsh liquid and gaseous media, such as bleach, acids, and chlorinated solvents.
Additional performance characteristics of Liquid X include low internal volume (< 32L, to manifold interface), flow rates of 20 SLPM of air with 50 psig applied, vacuum to 35 psi operating pressure range (50 psi maximum differential), repeatable cycle times (“open” and “drop-out” response times less than 20 milliseconds), and a leak rate specification of < 0.016 sccm air at 50 psig. Liquid X meets all specifications while operating in environmental conditions ranging from 0 to 50 Celsius and requires 2 watts maximum power for 12 and 24 VDC.
An optional manifold sub-base on the Liquid X provides maximum installation flexibility. The female-threaded 10-32 or ¼-28 interface allows OEMs to choose their preferred fluid connectors on single- or multiple-station assemblies. Liquid X also offers electrical termination by incorporating 2.54 mm pitch male pins. Other optional accessories for the 12mm valve include a 18" wire leaded assembly with a friction-lock female electrical connector that ensures secure electrical termination, as well as a splash proof connector guard for wet environments.
