Düsseldorf, Germany (November 18, 2009) – At this year’s MEDICA, the world’s largest medical trade show that is being held in Düsseldorf, Germany (November 18 – 21), Panasonic will be presenting its extensive line-up of batteries, which are used in the various fields of the healthcare and medical industry. Panasonic batteries are not only known for their innovative technology, but also play a key role in the reduction of incidents related to medical equipment. In addition to the current line-up, a number of prototypes, such as the flexible polymer battery and the pin type lithium-ion battery will be on display.
EVOIA Alkaline Batteries
In 2008, Panasonic introduced "Evoia" as an evolution to its line-up of conventional alkaline batteries. A reformative technology was concentrated on all of the structure, the material, and the industrial method, thus enhancing long term performance. The Alkaline Battery, which can be used for LED lamps, blood pressure monitors as well as bone drill and drivers, is easily available and convenient to use.
Coin Lithium Batteries
Panasonic coin lithium batteries are used for various small medical devices, such as patient transponders, inhalation pumps, and defibrillators. It is renowned for high reliability, safety and long-term user-satisfaction.
Lithium Ion Batteries
Panasonic will also present its rechargeable, and thus environmentally friendly, lithium ion batteries. With their high energy density at high voltage, lithium ion batteries are ideal to be used in various types of devices, such as blood sugar meters, medical lifts, wheelchairs, sleep diagnostics devices, portable phones and mobile computers.
Valve Regulated Lead Acid Batteries
Panasonic will also exhibit its range of Valve Regulated Lead Acid Batteries. Valve Regulated Lead Acid Batteries play an important role in main and backup applications, for example in surgery tables, medical lifts, wheelchairs and monitoring systems.
Nickel Metal Hydride Batteries
Rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride Battery, which take an active part by both the main and the backup usage are another integral part of the Panasonic battery line-up. Due to their compact size and light weight, they are ideal for powering portable and compact equipment, such as infusion pumps, patient transponders, hearing aids, portable ultrasound scanners and electrocardiograms.
Flexible Polymer Batteries
Panasonic is presenting the prototype of a flexible Polymer Battery. This new type primary battery can be bent, is thin and light and will be primarily used for medical devices, health and beauty products as well as various flexible devices. Furthermore, the battery size can be customized upon request.
Pin Type Lithium Ion Batteries
A Pin Type Lithium Ion Battery prototype will also be on display. This super-small lithium-ion battery significantly reduces the battery space in the equipment, thus also minimizing the size of the device that it powers. In addition, this rechargeable battery can be used repeatedly, which also reduces the frequency of bothersome battery exchanges.
