Direct selling in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Benelux
Within the development of diversification into new fields of business the sector of Life Science will be extended as a core business of Fujifilm. The company has been presented on the world market with this product sector for more than ten years. An increased commitment in Europe started in spring 2005. Now the European sales and distribution channels are newly organized: From January 2006 onwards the company will exclusively organize sales and distribution itself via the European headquarters in Düsseldorf from January 2006 onwards for the regions of Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Benelux; previously delivery had been organized via distributors.
"The support of our customers, which include the pharmaceutical industry, the complete biotech industry, research facilities, hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, test authorities and also the veterinary market, is very demanding and complex," says Dr. Kai-Henrik Barth, Director and General Manager of the Industrial Products Division at Fuji Photo Film (Europe) GmbH. "An efficient and successful cooperation is only possible on the basis of direct contact to our customers."
Fujifilm expands the product range of Life Science permanently. New products will once again be introduced as early as on the occasion of the medica fair, which takes place in Düsseldorf in November. They include QuickGene-610, a system for the isolation of DNA from blood, as well as Fuji Dri-Chem 3500i, an analysis system for the use in laboratory diagnostics.
