Medical devices interoperable

Stollmann will be showing in Hall 15 at Stand C48 at the Bluetooth SIG joint stand how Bluetooth can be integrated in medical devices.
The Bluetooth universe is about to include a specific Medical Device profile that creates a new global standard. This Medical Device profile (MDP) standardizes communications between medical therapeutic and diagnostic instruments and devices via Bluetooth, adding interoperability to existing designs.
As one of the first manufacturers in the world, Stollmann has implemented the Bluetooth SIG’s Medical Device profile within the framework of a research project. This profile can be integrated in Bluetooth modules or medical devices. In addition, Stollmann can also provide support for the ISO/IEEE 11073 protocol that standardizes the exchange of medical application data independently of the data communications technology used.
Stollmann will be presenting its BlueMod+ line of Bluetooth modules at Medica – everything from the low-cost Class 2 module to the high-end Class 1 module with a separate application CPU can be inspected. Stollmann also offers external and internal Bluetooth adapters that – just like the modules – are suitable for Bluetooth integration into medical devices.
