On this year’s MEDICA, Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Jürgen Osterbrink will be presenting the lecture “What impact does micro stimulation have with persons with reduced mobility?“
The Head of Department for Nursing Science at the Private Medical Paracelsus University of Salzburg will be speaking with regard to the expert standards “Decubitus prophylaxis in nursing care” and “Caring for individuals suffering from chronic wounds”. As the head of the study “Clinical evaluation of the bed system Völker MiS® Activ“ he will be presenting its methodology, implementation and results. In conclusion, the listeners will be offered the opportunity to become active and exchange opinions in a final discussion.
Völker MiS® Activ is the upgrade of the standard pressure reduction system MiS®. For both positioning systems the same indicators generally apply. Requirement for the meaningful usage of the basic version is always that the patient exhibits some degree of residual mobility. With increased immobility, the active micro stimulation system is used. It supports pneumonia, thrombosis, contractures and decubitus prophylaxis. The Völker MiS® Activ is therapeutically used in connection with neuralgic illnesses after trauma, dementia related illnesses such as morbus Alzheimer’s disease, for treatment support of (non-malign) pain and particularly with decubitus therapy.
Furthermore, the MiS® Activ has a positive effect on the patient’s own physical, local and time orientation compared to other anti-decubitus systems, an important aspect with the treatment of patients suffering from neurological illnesses, e.g. dementia.
The event is scheduled for November 16, 2011 from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm in room No. 14, Congress Center Düsseldorf in the town hall on the trade-fair premises.
Admission is free. However, since capacities are limited, the Völker AG is happy to accept reservations: Phone +49 (2302) 96096-0 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Interested individuals also have the opportunity to learn more about the Völker MiS® Activ at the Völker booth to personally convince themselves of its effectiveness.
