LAB SANI – An Effective Barrier Against Cross Contamination

Some of negative effects of contamination are the following:

- Infections proliferation
- Growth of micro organisms which accelerates degradation processes and damage laboratory samples
- Spread of unpleasant smells related to bacterial activity and eventual damage of surface of materials (cracks, slippery surfaces, etc.)
- Cross contamination can lead to transmission of pathogenic agents and epidemic outbreaks.

Desmon Scientific introduced a new range of laboratory refrigerators LAB Sani with interiors made of inorganic antimicrobial materials containing silver in ionic form. Such materials are safe in use, non toxic, non flammable, highly resistant to corrosion and scratches and suitable for food contact. They preserve its antibacterial properties in time and have a great environmental impact because they are recyclable thermoplastics .

The materials used in refrigerators from LAB Sani series have a very good antimicrobial effect against different types of bacteria including Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Staphylococcus aureus (≥99% germ reduction in accordance with the norm JIS Z 2801)

New Desmon Scientific refrigerators from LAB Sani series will help to reduce a risk of cross contamination between laboratory materials and personnel and become an effective barrier to uncontrolled growth and spread of microorganisms.
