Injex Pharma GmbH und die MMB GmbH Berlin will present the INJEX needle-free injection system and other needle-free inventions at MEDICA 2010
The syringe without a needle will finally be available for patients who have a fear of needles. Injex is the new hope for the needle-phobic. It can be used for subcutaneous injections of medications, including Insulin for diabetics, Heparin for Thrombosis prophylaxes, local anesthetics, as well as with other drugs.
More than 10 years ago, Mr. Andy Rösch presented the Injex System live in the famous German TV Show STERN TV and injected Mr. Günter Jauch, one of the best known German TV hosts, with Injex. The injection was successful, and Mr. Jauch stated that he felt no pain. In the beginning, the INJEX System had to overcome some market barriers in the German healthcare system. Now the INJEX System shall come to the final breakthrough.
The Injex system consists of two main components: the pen-sized injector and the sterile disposable ampoules. Driven by the power of a spring in the injector, the medication is pushed through the epidermis into the subcutaneous tissue. The treatment is pain-free and does not damage the skin as the needle does.
On a daily basis, doctors who give injections and individuals who inject at home with the traditional needle and syringe have to deal with the risk of injury or infection. Far too many needle accidents are documented worldwide. The European Union released some new directives on behalf of this. With a proper handling of Injex and one-time use of the disposable ampoule, the possibility of HIV infection is eliminated.
