GE Bayer Silicones Expand LSR production

GE Bayer Silicones announces that it plans to invest in additional Liquid Silopren Rubber (LSR) capacity at its Leverkusen (Germany) LSR production plant. The additional equipment will be onstream early 2006.
Dave Dijkhuis, Business Manager Elastomers, comments:
"We see continued strong growth of LSR demand in Europe, as well as globally. We believe this will continue as our LSR technology for Liquid Injection Molding of Silicone Elastomer provides significant customer productivity and new design opportunities. With our LSR technology, we have a leading position in this growing product segment. Last year we brought our LSR production facility in Thailand onstream to support our growth in Asia. In Europe, our teams already increased our LSR capacity by more than 10% during the last year by applying LEAN and Six Sigma methodologies. This new investment will support our growth in the European market and confirms our long-term commitment to this product line.
