Design Award from Germany to Turkish Engineering

The Tautmann Transfer Trolley has been awarded with silver prize at The Baden – Württemberg International Design Award Focus Safety competition in Germany. Tautmann is the brand of the medical company KBB Özel Sağlık Hizmetleri A.Ş which is based in Ankara, Turkey.

Stuttgart Design Center’s Focus award is unic with it’s theme changing every year. This government award is given to manufacturers and designers for forward-looking, professional and excellent design work. This year, products with safety features have been evaluated and results were announced last week.

At Focus Safety 2007, 206 products' designs from different countries were submitted and Tautmann has been awarded with silver prize in the medical design category. Judges' report for Tautmann was as follows: “Design and workmanship are high quality and functional. Super finish, creates a feeling of trust. Self-explanatory operation. Very good, professional product.”

The organization explains they looked for products, as this year's competition theme suggests, in which safety considerations, or alternatively the idea of security, played a key role in design. The winners, then, were those that illuminated the way for all others and made an example out of both their function and form.

All products of Tautmann brand are manufactured in a state-of-the-art ISO certificated plant in Ankara. “Top-notch quality, high functionality and a sleek look in our products are what we strive for each and everyday” notes Mehmet Ataman, Chief of Operations at Tautmann. With its rigorous R&D department hard at work, the brand already boasts a multitude of product lines, including the Transfer Trolley, the Waiting Lounge, the Transfusion Pole and Linen Cart.
