Deroyal introduces transradial catheterization access hemostasis device

Radar EasyClik Radial Homeostasis Device

In following their business motto of Improving Care and Improving Business®, DeRoyal® announces the release of their newest product the RadAR™ EasyClik™ Wrist Vascular Compression Device. Concerned that heart disease remains one of the leading causes of death worldwide, DeRoyal continues to dedicate their expertise to expanding and improving their angiographic product line. This single-use device provides a safe, quick and easy method of achieving hemostasis for post catherization radial access patients through basic circumferential compression around the wrist in a bracelet like device.

Transradial catheterization (through the radial artery in the wrist) has many clinical advantages over the more traditional transfemoral (through the femoral artery in the groin) including fewer bleeding complications and earlier ambulation of the patient. As a result, the radial access approach has become increasingly popular over the last several years. This approach does require some special supplies, one of which is a device to help stop the bleeding at the puncture site in the wrist.

The easy to use RadAR™ EasyClik™ includes a strap that has a housing, adjustment levers, and a translucent compression pad for conveniently applying external compression to the puncture site, and a cushion pad for patient comfort. With the adjustment levers, the clinician can quickly make a one-handed compression adjustment to permit patent blood flow through the artery and gradually release pressure during hemostasis without unfastening the device.

David Watermeier, Senior Director of International Marketing, stated “In the US, angiography procedures performed through the femoral artery are the norm. In many countries outside the US, such as Brazil, Canada, Japan, Australia and much of Europe, these procedures are being done via radial artery access the overwhelming majority of the time. This product represents a unique opportunity for DeRoyal’s International division. This is a fantastic product that is simple-to-use, very efficient in its performance, and will prove to be a cost savings for many cath labs in the markets we serve.”
