DTR Medical Ltd will display its award-winning range of products at MEDICA, in a year which the company has added 100 new instruments to its portfolio – including the Rotating Cervical Biopsy Punch and the innovative CombiHook.
DTR Medical is a leading high quality sterile single-use surgical instrument manufacturer and will exhibit at MEDICA 2014 (Hall 16, Stand F42) to showcase its product range alongside new lines for 2015 including an extensive range of precision electro surgery instruments including micro needle electrodes, diathermy forceps, loops and balls.
Delegates at MEDICA will experience DTR’s evolving brand, moving away from the traditional purple colour synonymous amongst its customers. Expanding instrument ranges now demand their own identity and so the company has introduced a new colour spectrum, raising the profile of all six ranges from ENT and Gynecology to Ophthalmology and Neurosurgery.
New Ophthalmology range
Using their experience and expertise in precise and high quality single-use instruments, the addition of a brand new range for ophthalmology (including forceps, scissors, electro surgery and a range of procedure packs) is a timely development with the evolving brand.
Amongst the innovations on display at MEDICA will be the Rotating Cervical Biopsy Punch, which brings together innovative design and renewably-sourced materials making it one of the most popular lines amongst gynecologists.
This cost effective single-use solution ensures clinics run smoothly through improved instrument availability and a guaranteed good quality biopsy every time. A recent independent Life Cycle Analysis study shows that the instrument is 2.8 times less harmful to the environment than a standard Tischler.
The handle is made from DuPont’s Sorona® plastic with 20 to 37 percent renewable material, utilising a renewably sourced propanediol made from technical starch – a truly green innovation!
Enhancing existing procedures
DTR will also showcase its latest innovation, the new ‘CombiHook’. The company has been working alongside a selection of leading Colposcopists to develop this pioneering colposcopy device, which enhances existing procedures, specifically in cervical manipulation, where stabilisation helps to secure the clinician’s vision during the procedure.
In the near future, DTR is planning a number of exciting collaborations in areas such as colposcopy, to help educate and train new doctors and specialist nurses. This includes supporting courses, learning materials and training aids that will support clinical improvement of cervical cancer screening and treatment worldwide.
New partners are welcome
The requirement for single-use instruments increases around the world each year – for example, there has been a significant demand from major Middle East markets for DTR Medical’s range of Myringotomy Trays for middle-ear procedures, which are cost effective lines offering a high quality single-use solution without compromise on quality of both product and service.
DTR Medical is looking to benefit from this trend by finding strong distributor partners, with an established route to market, who can add the company’s ranges into their portfolio.
At the core of this is the recognition that single-use instruments bring many benefits including savings for health providers, public or private, of time, life and cost (TLC). The identification of this is the start point for any new distributor who sees the potential for mutual growth and development with DTR Medical. The latest edition of the TLC brochure will help new users find the market in their country.
At MEDICA 2014, the team hope to find new partners in Canada, France, South Africa, Thailand, and Singapore.
Andrew Davidson, Managing Director of DTR Medical Ltd, said: “We have added over 100 new instruments to our range in time for the show, and look forward to showcasing our products which combine innovation with renewably sourced materials.
“We pride ourselves on providing high quality sterile, single-use surgical instruments without compromising on service, such as the Rotating Cervical Biopsy Punch.
“We are looking forward to building new relationships at MEDICA 2014 and introducing our new product range to distributors from across the globe.”
MEDICA, the world’s largest healthcare exhibition, will take place from 12-15 November at Messe Dusseldorf, Germany. Last year the exhibition attracted more than 130,000 visitors from 120 countries.
