The company NEL Neontechnik Elektroanlagen Leipzig GmbH presents from 19 to 22 November 2008 at the trade fair MEDICA in Düsseldorf their innovative baby bed. The BABYNEL-bed is mainly characterised by the soft bedding of the newborn baby. There is no other baby bed that rolls quieter and softer.
The flat und clear bowls of the baby bed makes a constant indivisibility between mother and child possible and helps to intensive the mother-child-relationship. Practise tests at the hospital St. Georg in Leipzig as well as at the hospital Vinzentius in Landau have shown that midwifes and mothers are convinced to the BABYNEL-Bed. The bed is produced in two varieties: the “BABYNEL-Bed softdrive”, also called “crescent” because of its c-shaped metal frame and the height-adjustable „BABYNEL Bed lift“, called “stork”. If you are interested in the baby bed, please do not hesitate to visit NEL at booth C 05 in hall 7 A at the MEDICA.

Since spring 2008 two samples of the BABYNEL-Bed have been tested during a durability test at the hospital St. Georg in Leipzig. “Our favourite is the vertically adjustable “BABYNEL Bed lift” that can be adjusted on the height of the mothers and nurses”, told Evelyn Teichmann, leading midwife at the hospital St. Georg. “Another big opportunity is the flat bowl which makes it possible for lying mothers to take their baby easy from the bed without pain. This opportunity admires mainly the women with caesarean.” Further samples of the baby bed are tested in 15 hospitals, e. g. at the hospital Vinzentius in Landau. With the help of the leading doctors in the obstetrician ward NEL developed an additional solution for the canopy. As first Saxon hospital bought the hospital Elblandklinikum in Radebeul the baby beds from NEL. Further deliveries to Austria and Great Britain are on the way. Additional to the enquiries from Germany and Austria, NEL gets also enquiries from Israel.

The BABYNEL-Bed is constructed to make it possible for mothers to take their baby from the bed without sitting up. It was called “bowl of Leipzig” to the name of the hometown of NEL. The bowl is punch resistant, chemical resistant and easy to clean. The BABYNEL-Bed suits optimally for the sensitive use in hospitals. Moreover there are air holes which minimise the risk of sudden infant death syndrome. Because of soft skater wheels as well as gas pressure springs of the metal frame, the newborn babies are protected against vibrations during the transport.
Four years ago the hospital Bürgerhospital in Frankfurt/Main instructed the NEL Neontechnik Elektroanlagen Leipzig GmbH with the repair of plastic bowl of its baby beds. “The homepage of NEL aroused the interest of the hospital and the NEL produced several bowls”, told Dr Uwe Teichert. “We took the baby bed with the reworked bowls to the trade fair MEDICA 2006 and the feedback was huge, so that our experts from our metallurgy decided to develop a new baby bed with a special design. For that reason we got an additional certificate for quality management from the German Technical Control Association “TÜV”.
