CSR Wills Awards from Spanish Federation of Healthcare Technology Companies

The technological companies Iberian Philips Healthcare , Roche Diagnostics, Boston Scientific Iberica and Macrimasa -Pharma Laboratories have received CSR Wills Awards from Spanish Federation of Healthcare Technology Companies ( Fenin ) in recognition of their effort, commitment and development of social responsibility policies to improve the health, quality of life and welfare of the population and the impact of its activities on the environment. The awards ceremony will take place on November 7 in Madrid during the Nineteenth Meeting of Health Technology Sector that ESADE & FENIN held annually .

As in 2012 , this second edition had high participation and highlights the high level of the projects submitted . The Awards jury was made up of personalities related to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and the health sector : Miguel Angel Garcia , CEO of independent work in the social economy and the corporate social responsibility of the Ministry of employment and Social Security , Daniel Carreno, Fenin president , Antonio Argandoña , a member of the Ethics Committee of Fenin , Eduard Punset , lawyer, economist and scientist ; Manel Peiro, academic dean of ESADE , Julio Ancochea , member of the Spanish Society of Pneumology and Thoracic Surgery ( SEPAR ) , Antonio Alvarez , president of the Spanish Federation Neuromuscular Disease ( ASEM ) , Alberto Urtiaga , honorary president of Forética ; Jesus Plywood , president of the Spanish Confederation of Small and Medium Enterprises ( CEPYME ) ; and José Luis de la Serna , deputy director of El Mundo and responsible for health area .

Social welfare , energy efficiency and sustainable innovation
In this second edition of Wills CSR Awards 2013 , category for Labour and Social Progress was awarded to Philips Ibérica for its bilingual program ( Castilian and English) " I have a dream" . Through this initiative, developed by an application designed for whiteboard has been pursued among schoolchildren promote healthy lifestyles with particular attention to the importance of light , exercise and sleep.

In this category, the jury wanted to make a special mention to the candidacy of Johnson & Johnson for his project " The footprint of our creed " , with which they have managed to unify and strengthen the group's business performance and increase pride of belonging and satisfaction of employees and expand areas and CSR actions that are an essential part of their business.

Wills Prize in the category Safety and Environmental Management has been to Roche Diagnostics for its " Excellence in environmental management." The initiative seeks to bring effective measures when looking for the most sustainable way to conduct their business , using techniques and energy saving techniques , also aims to optimize , as far as possible, the reuse of materials, natural degradation surplus and sustainable and environmental destruction of waste pollutants.

Boston Scientific Iberica Wills has received the Award for Best Innovation Sustainable by intravenous wireless defibrillator , a new treatment alternative to medical service for patients at risk of sudden cardiac arrest . The technique consists of a system of subcutaneous implantation defibrillation , capable of detecting and reversing cardiac arrhythmias effectively and safely , without the need to invade the vascular system , thereby enhancing the value offered to physicians , their patients and health systems .

Macrimasa -Pharma Laboratories inaugurated the SME category Wills Award for its commitment to CSR , fulfilling the goal of management to integrate and develop this parcel in its business strategy . With this new distinction , Fenin aims to motivate SMEs associated with awards presented to wills and publicize their projects in the field of CSR.
