RESTORING OPTIMAL CELL VITALITY AND INTERCELLULAR COMMUNICATION, INCREASING THE LIFE SPAN OF CELLS AND BETTER PROTECTING SKIN
Research shows that two “time” proteins - Sirtuin-1 and Survivin - are essential to cellular longevity. Sirtuin-1, linked to all cells’ survival, ensures skin integrity. Survivin, specific to stem cells’ survival, guarantees the regeneration potential of the epidermis. The expression of these two “time” proteins falls significantly with ageing, triggering a slowdown in the vital functions of the cells.
Through an exceptional lipo aminoacid ingredient (INCI: Sodium Cocoyl Alaninate), CodeXage greatly increases the expression of survivin and sirtuin-1. It is about truly and effectively fighting back time, working on dermal and epidermal cells to guarantee a unique regeneration potential.
The aforesaid ingredient is capable of ensuring better cutaneous harmony as well, by working on the “dialogue” proteins involved in communication between the cells of the dermis and the epidermis. Epidermal dialogue (between keratinocytes) is guaranteed by connexins, which compose the “GAP junctions” (dialogue channels). The structure of the dermal-epidermal junction (DEJ), enabling dermal-epidermal exchange, is guaranteed by nidogen. Dermal-epidermal exchanges (fibroblasts, keratinocytes) are ensured by pleiotrophin, the role of which has recently been identified.
During the ageing process, expression of these proteins decreases. Dialogue between the dermal and epidermal cells slows down, leading to cells anarchy. CodeXage reverses this process through the special lipoamino acid included: it restores gene expression of these proteins, increasing the expression of connexin-26, nidogen and pleiotrophin). Old cells regain a younger phenotype and improve their communication at all levels of the skin. Harmony is restored.
CodeXage also acts against time and wrinkles by countering photo-ageing. The skin has “sentinel cells” to protect it: Langerhans cells (LCs). During photo induced ageing, these cells get damaged, leading to a decreased skin defence system. The special lipoamino acid in CodeXage provides protection to langerhans cells, thus preventing photo-induced skin ageing and wrinkle formation.
IMPROVING SKIN STRUCTURE AND PREVENTING WRINKLE FORMATION THROUGH INCREASED PRODUCTION OF HYALURONIC ACID, ELASTIN AND LAMININ-5
This is achieved through a biotechnological ingredient (INCI: Sinorhizobium Meliloti Ferment) carried into the skin through a liposome for greater effectiveness, which acts on skin keratinocytes by stimulating hyaluronic acid and laminin-5 synthesis, and induces chain reactions down to dermal fibroblasts (elastin synthesis). This very special ingredient contains glycokines: oligosaccharides working as specific messengers and inducing biological responses according to their distinct structure, which can be accurately obtained only by biotechnology.
Increased hyaluronic acid and elastin will provide a healthier looking skin and prevent wrinkle formation by keeping skin hydrated and supple. Working on increasing laminin-5 is just as important. Laminins are basement membrane components which mediate the attachment, migration and organization of cells into tissues during embryonic development by interacting with other extracellular matrix components. Laminin 5 is a complex glycoprotein which is involved in cell adhesion, signal transduction and differentiation of keratinocytes. Hence, increasing its synthesis will lead to a younger looking skin.
