Benefits of Whole Body Periodic Acceleration (WBPA)

Non Invasive Monitoring Systems, Inc. (NIMS) introduces a patented acceleration therapeutics device ("Exer-Rest") to aid individuals who are incapable or unwilling to exercise and to help reduce pain and discomfort during daily activities of living. The Exer-Rest provides Whole Body Periodic Acceleration (WBPA) therapy by moving the body repetitively head to foot at approximately 140 times a minute. The repetitive motion of the Exer-Rest adds pulses to your natural vascular pulse with each acceleration and deceleration of the body. These additional pulses act on the inner lining of blood vessels (endothelium) throughout the body to increase pulsatile sheer stress. This stimulates activity of a gene which increases release of Nitric Oxide into the bloodstream.

It is well established and documented that Nitric Oxide, a potent, natural anti-inflammatory molecule, suppresses the activity of a key factor that directs the inflammatory response thereby providing alternative or complementary treatment for all chronic inflammatory diseases.

The beneficial physiologic effects of Nitric Oxide and other mediators released during a 30 to 45 minute treatment with the Exer-Rest aid to improve circulation, joint mobility and reduce musculoskeletal pain and inflammation.
