Mainz-Kastel, November 14, 2007 - A new line of compact, non-spill quick disconnect couplings from Colder Products Company provides users with fast, safe and virtually leak-free, fluid-line connections. An excellent choice for analytical instrumentation, dialysis, sterilizing and processing equipment, and many other life science market applications, the patent-pending NS2 couplings provide high-flow fluid transfer in a small footprint.
"The new NS2 is a direct response to our customers' requests to expand our existing non-spill technology. While our current non-spill couplings have been well accepted in a variety of applications, segments of the medical market began asking for our non-spill technology in a smaller package size," said Jim Brown, business unit manager, medical markets, Colder Products Company. "With the NS2, customer can now incorporate our easy-to-use, high flow non-spill connectors in a smaller applications than ever befor."
The NS2's overall package size is streamlinded and compact, meeting the need for smaller, more cost-effective medical couplings. Its size enables it to be incorporated into smaller spaces than previously possible. In addition, the smaller couplings can replace larger ones, offering users a low-cost, space-saving option for a wide variety of coupling applications.
For medical applications that require the safe transfer of fluids, the NS2 provides an easy, twist-to-connect locking mechanism and double-sided non-spill shutoff valves for added safety and convenience. It also offers the ability to isloate fluids, quickly and cleany making tubing changes adds to the value of the larger device. Additionally, the new couplings allow very low air inclusion - air induced into the coupling upon connection - minimizing contaminants and reducing to purge fluid lines.
Colder NS2 Series quick disconnect couplings offer hose barb terminations and are available for tubing in 1/8" (3.2mm) and 1/4" (6.4mm) ID. Configurations include pipe thread, in-line and panel mount. The ferruless compression terminations connect to 1/4" OD (6.4mm) and 0.17" ID (4.3mm) semi-rigid tubing. Pressure ranges from vacuum to 45psi (3.1 bar), and operating temperatures rage from 32° F ( 0°C) to 120° F (49°).
