BioNike: the dermocosmetic brand Italian dermatologists appreciate the most
Created by ICIM International srl, an Italian company founded in the 1930s as a pharmaceutical business and which then turned into a company producing dermocosmetics and medical devices in the 1960s, the BioNike brand has become ever more successful year after year thanks to the great attention towards sensitive and allergy-prone skin, supported by constant dialogue with doctors and strong scientific research work.
Much of today's success stems from the fact that ICIM was one of the first companies to become fully aware that cosmetics, besides improving skin, can pose an allergological risk for skin through both the ingredients and the contaminants they carry to it upon application, particularly a risk of contact allergy triggered by nickel, perfumes and preservatives.
Ever since, BioNike has been striving to develop dermocosmetics and medical devices with stable formulations that are free of skin-sensitizing agents, yet always innovative and effective in meeting users' needs. The high specialization of BioNike products meets the demands of consumers, who in the past did not have product ranges so specialized in formulations that could properly meet the needs of sensitive, allergy-prone skin.
The 10 guarantees of BioNike dermocosmetics and medical devices:
- Nickel tested: each production lot is tested to guarantee a content in nickel traces lower than 0.00001%; the makeup is also tested against chrome and cobalt
- Fragrance free: totally without fragrances or, in a few cases, only fragrances are selected that do not contain allergens
- Preservative free: totally without preservatives
- Gluten source free: without gluten
- Strict selection of all ingredients
- Strong research and development work to strive to seek highest product appreciation on application and cutting edge active ingredients
- Products tested in vitro on a model that replicates characteristics and reactions of human skin
- Products tested clinically on voluntary subjects and under medical supervision
- Selective product acceptance criteria in conformity with UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 regulations and control on products according to pharmaceutical industry standards
- Packaging developed to best preserve product integrity
The high specialization and uniqueness of BioNike products have allowed the brand to reach a leading position in the market, ahead of many important and internationally known competitor brands.
Our dermocosmetics and medical devices are currently promoted through doctors, dermatologists, paediatricians, allergologists, and marketed through the channel of pharmacies, parapharmacies, sanitary shops.
Five of our items are classified as medical devices; they are: an anticellulite cream, an acne cream, a cream for dermatitis, a sun barrier cream and a gel for skin lesion dressing.
The main current features of the company:
- We are well established as a market leader with the distribution of our products in pharmacies in Italy, with a turnover increasing year by year and a range which we have been continuously enlarging since a few years (there are currently about 160 products);
- We have our own internal R&D Laboratory for scientific research and development of new products (as well as for routine quality control connected to the productions); it is of an advanced level, with highly qualified technical experts;
- We have our own production plants and the products are fully manufactured at our headquarters here in Italy;
- We can provide our official distributors highly specialized scientific education on our products, both with annual trainings for sales personnel and for doctors and pharmacists - as we currently do in Italy and in 20 foreign countries where our products are already distributed with a stable organization - and by providing scientific support and documentation;
- We have our own internal marketing staff, specialized to give support to doctors, pharmacists and also to prepare specific materials for the consumers, to organize our presence at relevant congresses and exhibitions of the sector (like Medica), to take care of advertising and communication through the various media (magazines, TV, points of sale).
