Company Profile

3QBD Ltd.
3QBD provides the field of Women's Healthcare with a new diagnostic tool to transform the health and well-being of women throughout the world.
The 3QBD solution, the patented VGTest, enables physicians to diagnose Bacterial Vaginosis within 60 seconds, (Candidiasis and Trichomoniasis programmed for 2010) more accurately, more rapidly and with more precision, allowing immediate correct treatment.
Future development plans for 3QBD include expanded research into additional infections and diseases, particularly in the field of oncology. Other envisaged applications are for food and livestock.
The VGTest uses IMS (Ion Mobility Spectrometry) technology to diagnose the three most common forms of Vaginitis: bacterial vaginosis, (Candidiasis and Trichomoniasis 2010).
Chemical changes in living systems, or degradation of cells after death through enzymatic and microbial processes, are accompanied by the breakdown of amino-acids and production of biogenic amines. Pathological conditions in the human body may be expressed in the formation of biogenic amines, so that elevated levels of biogenic amines may be indicative of dysfunctions. IMS is a sensitive instrumental technique for detecting volatile compounds. It is based on measuring the velocity of ions (ion mobility) drifting through a gas bath under the influence of an electric field.
In addition the VGTest test spares the physician from having to perform the Amsel Test and “whiff tests” of vaginal fluid.
3QBD was founded in April, 2000 by two highly experienced professionals, Dr. Avraham Lorber and Dr. Zeev Karpas, who are well-known senior researchers at the Nuclear Research Center Negev (NRCN) in Israel, both with over 30 years expertise in the field of biotechnology.
