Foster has built a global business on expert hot melt extrusion. Today, the ideal setting for Foster’s extraordinary hot melt extrusion is the new state-of-the-art Class 100,000 Cleanroom in Putnam, Connecticut.
Compounding within this world class cleanroom is performed by Foster’s team of expert technicians utilizing a high precision Leistritz ZSE-27mm twin screw extruder and ThermoFisher Polylab with a 16 mm twin screw extruder with precise cGMP design functions for medical and pharmaceutical applications.
Together, this dedicated team and dedicated extruder monitor every parameter in the extrusion process. Extremely accurate loss-in-weight feeding systems control the constant feed streams, maintaining the highest accuracy, while the compound is tracked through the extrusion line.
Virtually every compound processed by Foster is a unique, customized order.
