How the blind are able to see again

Alone in Germany approximately 7000 patients a year are waiting for a donor cornea. Now there is new hope! A plastic implant helps blind people to see again. The prosthesis is especially aimed to help the so-called Ultima-Ratio-patients for whom conventional therapies are absolutely hopeless. These and other medical innovations are part of this year's MEDICA - the world's biggest medical event.
