Every year not only Christmas returns but also the world’s largest medical trade fair takes MEDICA. The topics range from laboratory to IT, from fast track rehabilitation to sexual dysfunction – the newest trends are presented in Duesseldorf from 15 to 18 November.

In the centre of our Topic of the Month November on MEDICA.de is MEDICA.

Eating a couple of hours after a colon operation, walking around the corridor the next day and going home after five days – recovery can happen so quickly due to the fast track rehabilitation. Originally invented to prevent complications it also shortens the time spent in hospital. - Fast Track: From the Operating Table into Everyday Life

Psychosexual disorders are no longer a taboo topic. How the illness which is often experienced as embarrassing can be treated with a high success rate will be the topic of a seminar by the psychotherapist Volker van den Boom taking place at MEDICA 2006. - Sexual Dysfunction: A Glance Behind the Scenes is Helpful

Micro plus endo equals endomicroscopy. Due to an integrated confocal microscope this technique renders it possible to analyse even the smallest cell during an endoscopy. Up to now only the stomach and the intestine have been examined like that but in the future the technique is supposed to be applied to other organs, too. - Endomicroscopy: Piggyback into the Intestinal Tract

The health care system is increasingly dominated by digital processes. This year MEDICA presents again the newest trends, developments and visions for the future within the scope of MEDICA MEDIA and MEDICA meet.IT-forum. - Digital World of Medicine: Small Chip, Big Effect
