Need to know if your product is within limits for RF exposure?

Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) testing at the TÜV Rheinland Exhibition Stand

The Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) is the rate of energy absorption by body tissues close to transmitters, like mobile phones, PDA’s, WLAN,etc. Nowadays, the exposure to Electro Magnetic Fields (EMF) is considered an important health and safety issue.
Regulatory and standards bodies around the world nowadays require the testing of RF transmitting devices for compliance with RF radiation safety standards. All handheld or body-mounted MTE’s must be evaluated against human exposure standards which set basic restrictions for the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) or RF energy by any part of the human body. In the USA, Europe, Australia and many other countries the scope of the SAR evaluation includes devices such as GSM, CDMA, DECT,WiFi, WiMAX,Bluetooth, PDA and many other products as well as wireless devices that must be evaluated against human exposure standards which set basic restriction for the SAR of RF energy by any part of the human body.
TÜV Rheinland EPS is the only accredited (ISO 17025) test laboratory for SAR-testing in the Netherlands and has been performing these tests according for many years according to various international standards. This facility is also available for engineering R&D and scientific research purposes.
At MEDICA 2009 we are pleased to demonstrate this special part of our service portfolio at our TÜV Rheinland exhibition stand. We are looking forward to measure the SAR level of your cell phone in Hall 10, Stand N° C07. Come around and experience how highly qualified safety tests verify if the RF energy emitted compies with the defined limits of radiation regulations.
