Short cycles, low costs: Bulky items reprocessed economically

Short cycles
Looking back one year on since the integration of container and trolley washers into its portfolio, Miele has good reason to be satisfied with initial results. The four model versions of large decontamination units which Miele has been producing since the beginning of 2010 under its own name have already been sold to hospitals in Germany, the Netherlands, Russia and the Czech Republic. One reason for the successful market launch is the cost-effectiveness of the new models.

All four Miele models can process up to 8 loads per hour, depending on the nature and composition of the loads. The Miele PG 8822 offering thermal disinfection is for example able to reprocess a transport trolley in just 20 minutes. At 200 l per cycle, this machine uses less than half of the water required by competitors' machines in this size category. Similarly, detergent and disinfectant consumption is minimal. A key to efficiency is, for example, the innovative tank recirculation system which feeds hot decontamination solution with a temperature of 90°C back to a supply tank where it is saved for the next cycle.

All the new Miele models are characterised by high-quality, rugged and reliable technology: Fast and residue-free reprocessing is facilitated by a fully welded stainless-steel chamber which offers a water-tight seal, reduces wear and prevents the build-up of contamination. This equipment is clearly designed to withstand the rough and tumble of workaday hospital life. The user interface is particularly simple thanks to a touch display presenting the programme sequence and process parameters both in graphic form and in plain text. Adapting programmes to suit individual site requirements is simple and fast using the display. As accessories, Miele offers a wide range of trolleys for a broad spectrum of goods including sterile supply containers, theatre shoes and bowls.

In order to guarantee machine uptime, Miele employs a large team of in-house service technicians and offers numerous preventative maintenance and full-service contracts.
