Sleep constitutes one third of our life and its quality is reflected in our health and well-being. Therefore, it is extremely important on what we sleep and a good mattress can significantly improve the comfort of our life. For several years Reha Fund has been gathering information and researching healthy sleep and prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers. Apparently, these two unrelated issues are in fact an integral whole and in combination give a recipe for a healthy and comfortable rest in the supine position.
Prolonged lying down on an improper mattress in the supine position may result in uncomfortable feeling of discomfort and eventually pain in the areas exposed to pressure. Over time, however, when the pressure on the soft tissue between the mattress surface and the skeletal system is not reduced, it leads to ischemia, which prevents the supply of the necessary oxygen and nutrients. The effect of such continued state is cell death and ultimately the emergence of pressure ulcers (bedsores). It is so important to reduce the pressure on the soft tissues as much as possible regardless of whether it is long term or short term. Reha Fund research team has created products which reduce the pressure on the soft tissues while maintaining the feeling of comfort for the patient.
The knowledge of the prevention and treatment of bedsores and healthy sleep has provided a strong foundation in the creation of high-quality, dual-function foam mattresses: bedsore prevention and therapeutic high-comfort sleep.
All Reha Fund mattresses and overlays are dedicated to be used in the prevention and treatment of bedsores. Moreover, most of them can function as regular mattresses for everyday sleep ensuring high level of sleep comfort.
Reha Fund offers the highest quality bedsore prevention mattresses for the prophylaxis. Our main goal is to provide information to patients and medical staff on how to choose the right type of mattress. Proper mattress selection is crucial for prevention and treatment of bedsores
Healthy and comfortable sleep is what each of us wants and needs. After many years of research and accumulating experience on healthy sleep, Reha Fund has applied its expertise to creating a unique line of orthopedic pillows. The poor positioning of the body during sleep causes improper alignment of the cervical vertebrae and reduces intervertebral space, which in turn leads to additional pressure on the spinal cord and disruption of the blood circulation in the vertebral arteries supplying the brain. While using our orthopedic pillows the effects of improper positioning of the head during sleep, i.e. headaches, neck and shoulders pain, feeling of numbness or fatigue - are gone. The correct positioning of the head while sleeping on the back also clears the respiratory tract limiting or may reduce snoring or shortness of breath. Additionally, an orthopedic pillow makes the cervical spine assume its natural position during sleep and may allow relief of excessively tight muscles. Specially designed medical pillow shapes may keep your head in a correct position. The wide range of shapes and sizes allows the choice of the right pillow to meet the individual needs. Pillow cases are available in Tencel™, cotton and other fabrics. Tencel™ is unique natural fiber containing wood pulp; the fabric is breathable, absorbent and antistatic.
ROLLS AND HALF-ROLLS
Orthopedic rolls may fit perfectly into the cervical recess between the head and the shoulder. The roll may also support other body parts such as legs, arms or back and can be used in rehabilitation process. Half-rolls have a flat surface to stabilize body parts. Rolls cases are available in cotton or waterproof fabric
Our cushions are designed to reduce the pressure on the soft tissue thus facilitating free blood circulation. The cushions maintain proper spine posture and are perfect to eliminate pain and discomfort during prolonged seating periods. Available various foam types, including PLA fluid or air.
ORTHOPEDIC LUMBAR SUPPORTS
Our contoured lumbar supports provide a natural lumbar curve to reduce back fatigue and enhance postural stability, assuring effective back support.
Various shapes recommended for bedsore prevention and positioning of the particular body parts. Made of non-toxic and anti-allergic polyurethane foam.
