Fresenius Medical Care Venture Challenge

The Fresenius Medical Care Venture Challenge is seeking start-ups in the following domains:
  • NLP (Natural Language Processing) in Healthcare domain:
Natural language processing (NLP) is a field of computer science, artificial intelligence, and computational linguistics concerned with the interactions between computers and human (natural) languages. As such, NLP is related to the area of human–computer interaction. Many challenges in NLP involve: natural language understanding, enabling computers to derive meaning from human or natural language input; and others involve natural language generation. Specifically we are interested in the application of NLP in retrieving knowledge out of scientific literature, drug leaflets and medical guidelines.

  • Multi Agents applied to Healthcare:
A multi-agent system (M.A.S.) is a computerized system composed of multiple interacting intelligent agents within an environment. Multi-agent systems can be used to solve problems that are difficult or impossible for an individual agent or a monolithic system to solve. In particular we are interested in application that use MAS in the context of Home/ Remote monitoring of patients.

  • Personalized Medicine:
Use of data including DNA mapping to create personalized care pathways for the patient
