Future Prospects for “Medical Technology”

In 2015, manufacturers of medical technology in Germany achieved a new record turnover, totalling 28.4 billion Euros (an increase of 11.6 in comparison with 2014). In this respect, home business, which totalled 9.2 billion Euros, was almost 13 per cent higher than the last year‘s value, while business abroad increased by 11 per cent to reach 19.2 billion Euros. The low value of the Euro, low oil prices and expansionist monetary policy also served to boost global demand. The outlook for 2016 is also optimistic. In particular, further increases are expected in the turnover abroad. Despite a possible slowing of the market development in China, the prospects for Asia are generally assessed as being positive; further growth is also expected for the business with North America.
