Future Prospects for “Medical Technology”

The global prospects for growth for German medical technology manufacturers are still good in the long-term despite a slowdown in the international business of SME providers. The emergence of the new middle classes due to increasing income in many heavily populated emerging countries and ultimately the irreversible demographic change towards an increasingly older society in industrial countries and even in some emerging countries, as well as the associated rise in lifestyle diseases are long-term stable trends with enormous potential. The total sales of German medical technology manufacturers in 2014 was over EUR 25 billion for the first time with EUR 25.19 billion (+2.3 per cent), and the prospects for 2015 are also optimistic.
