Diagnosis of pernicious anemia, type A chronic atrophic gastritis

Pernicious anemia, the most common cause of vitamin B12 deficiency in Western populations, is supposed to be the end stage of type A chronic atrophic gastritis.
Because of their ease of use, potential for automation, objectivity in interpretation, and reduced training requirements AESKU has developed two ELISA based assays with a composition providing maximum sensitivity and specificity in the diagnosis of pernicious anemia:
- AESKULISA® Parietal cell: The new kit for the quantitative and qualitative determination of IgG autoantibodies against parietal cells and
- AESKULISA® Intrinsic factor for the quantitative and qualitative determination of IgG autoantibodies against intrinsic factor.
The AESKULISA® Intrinsic factor and Parietal cell tests therefore provide useful tools in the differentiation of pernicious anemia from other causes of vitamin B12 deficiency and an early detection of type A chronic atrophic gastritis.
