Diagnose of Diabetic Foot Syndrome

In Germany suffer about 7Mio. people from diabetes. Perfusion problems are a common
comorbidity of diabetes. Both vessel systems, the arteries (PAD) and the veins (CVI) are effected by the disease.

The O2C (oxygen to see) is a new method, allowing functional investigation of parameters testing the micro-circulation and so allowing to find out, which vessels, the arteries or the veins are mainly affected. Only an unambiguous diagnostic provides the basis for the correct therapy . For example, the treatment of the arteries by a bypass or stent can worsen a co-existing venous disease in the foot of such a patient.

The O2C is the first method, enabling a clear diagnostic of the diabetic foot syndrome in less than 5 minutes. The O2C method is save and easy to apply – also by a nurse.
Further, the O2C allows determination of wound healing and measure of the critical perfusion pressure – artefact free – and independent on media calcification, oedema or collateral blood flow.
