DIVERSINET MAKES FIRST APPEARANCE AT MEDICA WORLD FORUM: INTRODUCES UNIQUELY SECURE PLATFORM FOR MOBILE APPLICATIONS IN HEALTHCARE

TORONTO, Canada, October 2, 2009 – Diversinet Corp. (TSX Venture: DIV, OTCBB: DVNTF), a leading provider of secure application platforms for the mobile world, will formally introduce its AllOne Mobile solution , which is secured by Diversinet, to healthcare markets outside North America at the annual Medica 2009 World Forum being held in Düsseldorf, Germany November 18-21. Secure wireless applications using AllOne Mobile help healthcare organizations concerned about privacy greatly improve their access to and security of their patient information – and yet at the same time provide patients with greater control over their own health information.

“Our mission is to re-shape mobile applications for healthcare by applying our unique blend of wireless and security expertise to mobile applications,” says Mr. Albert Wahbe Diversinet’s chairman and CEO of the Toronto-based company. “We are equipped to do this because we are a security systems firm first and foremost, which has applied its expertise to wireless – not the other way around. So mobile applications developed on our platform are exceptionally secure.”

Though a first-time exhibitor at MEDICA, the twelve-year-old company is not new to innovation. Diversinet holds 12 patents and 24 patent applications for new authentication and security technologies. In North America, key customers include AllOne Mobile Corporation, which licenses the technology to Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania and most recently the U.S. Army. The company also reaches international customers through a global network of resellers and agents. In Germany, Titan Commerce represents Diversinet, displaying its products on Titan’s http://www.ipnetshop.de/ portal.

The AllOne Mobile solution provides a flexible, HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and CCR (Continuum of Care Record) compliant, publishing tool that supports providers, payers, and large employee groups.

Diversinet’s own MobiSecure Strong Authentication software is the security foundation for the AllOne Mobile solution. It provides organizations with a two-factor authentication SoftToken system that replaces conventional hardware token-based authentication systems. SoftToken software is a convenient over-the-air solution that offers lower life-cycle management costs compared to hard tokens.

Diversinet will be providing live demonstrations of its mobile solutions at the Medica 2009 World Forum, as a Canada Pavilion exhibitor – Hall 16, G42.
