Medspira announces the initiation of a multi-center randomized clinical trial utilizing an investigational biofeedback device (based on the FDA cleared and currently marketed mcompass Anorectal Manometry system) combined with pelvic floor physical therapy for treatment of fecal incontinence. The study investigates the effectiveness of physical therapy with biofeedback for treatment of fecal incontinence. Anorectal manometry is a test that evaluates bowel function in patients with constipation or fecal incontinence. A small, flexible catheter with sensors is placed in the rectum. This is connected to a computer and a recording device that measures the pressure and strength of your anal and rectal muscles. PLEASE SEE LINK BELOW REFERENCING THE STUDY.
