Shoulder arthroscopy has always been a challenging investigative procedure because of the difficulty of positioning the patient for good surgical access.
Anetic Aid’s specialist accessory for the QA4 Surgery Trolley System (powered or manual version) addresses all of the issues: it has removable panels which offer unprecedented surgical access – plus a back support and headpiece which secures the patient’s position on the table thus protecting their airway.
Much thought has also been given to patient comfort and the accessory comes complete with a supporting disposable chin strap (additional packs of 10 can be purchased separately) and a special pillow to position behind the patient’s knees – avoiding the referred pain which can sometimes be associated with this procedure.
Other accessories available for the QA4 include arm tables, perineal instrument trays, lateral and pelvic supports. Removable lightweight head and leg sections, together with optional powered leg supports, also make the QA4 an excellent system for gynaecology, while a specialist head section for ophthalmics has been introduced, offering movement in three different planes.
Said International Sales Manager Mike Pritchett: ‘When the QA4 was first launched, we built in the factors that our customers told us were important – ‘C’ arm access, traversing patient platform, lateral tilt, increased weight limit and height capabilities etc. Through that ongoing dialogue we will continue to add new accessories and refine and develop the QA4 to expand its range and scope still further.’
